$68.3 million is estimated to be lost in Connecticut revenue when the MGM Resorts Springfield opens. The casino resort is expected to open in 2018.

A report was released by the fiscal office of the General Assembly covering what potentially could happen once the Massachusetts casino opens.

Connecticut lawmakers requested the Office of Fiscal Analysis to research how the state's revenue could be impacted in 2019.

Two tribal owned casinos in the southeastern part of the state may loose revenue from slot machines when the MGM opens. A joint company was formed in efforts to compete with the casino.

Approval from the state is needed if the two tribes wish to develop another casino.
