Even with a pressing lawsuit from MGM, plans for a future tribal owned
Connecticut casino are continuing.
An announcement was made this week by the Mashantucket Pequots and Mohegan
tribes that five proposals had been submitted by communities that are interested
in their joint casino project.
Recently an amendment to the Connecticut constitution was made. The amendment
will allow for a casino to be developed in the state's northern area. This would
be for direct competition to the MGM property.
MGM Resorts are building a casino in Springfield, MA.
The two tribes will announce next month where the future casino will be built.
