To be competitive with Massachusetts casinos, the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority and Foxwoods Resort Casino are teaming together to develop a new casino plan. Even if it means competing against themselves.

The tribes currently own two casinos in southeast Connecticut.

A forum was held on Monday in regards to the proposed casino project. Mohegan Sun casinos president Robert Soper and Foxwoods casino president Felix Rappaport both attended.

The two parties believe that the new proposed casino plan is a way to prevent thousands of people from loosing their jobs.

In order to be competitive with Massachusetts, both groups want the state to allow for up to three additional casinos to be built. Connecticut legislation would be required for the plan to be approved.

The casinos would also use attractions and entertainment as other ways to attract guests in addition to gaming.
