Bridgeville's proposed casino may soon be rejected. The casino project was proposed by the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe. A lawyer for the tribe stated is was unlikely the U.S.

Department of the Interior would approve the casino and resort. The Department has until the middle of this month to give its approval.

Almost 10 years have passed since the state legislature had given approval for 3 Indian casinos to be opened. However, since that time, none of the plans for casinos have been approved.

Previously a pact had been signed by former Governor David Paterson with the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe. However, the proposed plan would have to be approved by the Department of the Interior first.
