Changes in betting limits in the casinos were approved by the state's
Legislature. The new limit is now $1,000. However, new security regulations will
now be required for the change.
The South Dakota Commission on Gaming is requiring surveillance images to be
kept for 2 weeks by the casinos. Originally casino only had to keep the footage
for 1 week. The extra time limit is being done in effort to make it easier to
catch gamblers that cheat.
Casinos that will be adding the higher betting limits must make this change now.
Casinos that are not going to raise their limits have to convert to the new
surveillance by July 2013.
