GROVE — The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe have submitted an
application to the Bureau of Indian Affairs to transfer 33 acres into federal
trust. The land is west of Grove, Oklahoma near Sail Boat Bridge.
The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 requires that land for casinos must be
placed in trust with the federal government. Chief Paul Spicer said it will take
several months for the trust application to be approved, but that he was
confident it will be approved. The new casino must also be approved by the
Oklahoma governor and local government officials.
