Harrah's Cherokee Casino celebrated last week as the final steel beam was placed
on the top of the new 21 story hotel tower. Over 1,000 employees were present
along with administrators, tribal officials, and spectators. This is a $633
million expansion for the casino resort.
The tower has been erected in an impressive 9 months. The resort will have an
additional 532 rooms. This will double the current hotel capacity. Making
Harrah's Cherokee North Carolina's largest hotel. It is expected for
constructions to be finished later this year.
The finished project will add a 3,00 seat auditorium, 78 suites, a 16,000 square
foot spa, and a 400 seat Paula Deen Kitchen restaurant.
Perry Shell, Tribal Council Member, said Harrah's Cherokee and the tribe are
becoming an economic driver in the region. Shell believes the project will have
a positive impact not only on the tribe, but for the entire area.
