A meeting is set to take place by the state's gaming commission over the
licensure for four new casinos. However, the awarding or those licenses may not
take place.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in New York on Monday. However the vote
is not on the agenda.
The licenses were to be awarded by the end of the year per the New York Gaming
Commission.
The four new casinos were approved by the New York casino location board a year
ago.
Casino owners had to under go background checks. Regulations needed to be
drafted. All the casinos had to have their final details reviewed. All of these
steps have to take place before the casino licenses can be awarded.
New York's Southern Tier, the Finger Lakes, Catskills, and Schenectady were all
approved locations for new casinos.
