The $20 million Wizard of Oz-themed casino is expected to open on June 2. The
casino is owned by the Oneida Indian Nation.
The casino is named the Yellow Brick Road Casino. It is located 15 miles from
Syracuse, in Chittenango.
The design of the casino is based on the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This
is based on the history that Chittenango has with the books author.
Over 430 slot machines will be in operation. The Wizard Hall is the bingo hall
that has room for 500 guests. There is also a Keno Lounge. As well as dining
options of restaurants and bars.
The casino is built on tribal land. Therefore state approval is not required for
the casino to open.
