Governor Andrew Cuomo stated that he is supportive of a New York City casino. However, not in an area of high population.
A possible location is Queens Aqueduct Racetrack. As of now, the facility operates a virtual casino. Cuomo also said that other locations are also a possibility.
During the State of the State address, the governor plans to ask for casino gaming support from New York state Legislature. If support is give by the state's legislation, the governor stated he plans to spend 2012 working on the casino plan details before going to the voters and ask for a referendum.
