The previous Aqueduct Racetrack grandstands will soon become the Aqueduct
Casino. On Friday, members of the media were invited on a tour of the new gaming
facility. The grandstand has been renovated to be the home of the new 415,000
square foot casino.
When completed, the casino will consist of two gaming floors. Guests can enjoy
4,500 gaming machines. Currently state law does not allow for traditional table
game operations. However, electronic table games will be available for guests. A
third floor will host events, concerts, and conferences.
Visitors will find dining on the first floor of the casino. 2 buffets and a food
court with seven food stations will give guest a variety of food options. There
will also be a circle bar with a stage that is 28 feet long. A screen above the
stage is 16 by 30 feet and high definition. At the end of the year, it is
expected that two new restaurants will also open. A steakhouse named RW Prime,
and a Chinese restaurant called Genting Palace.
Watching and betting on races will still be available to guests. The casino will
have monitors throughout to watch. There will also be spectator platforms to
watch live races. Guests will have to exit to the track side of the building to
place wagers.
Also being built is a parking garage. When completed the garage will be six
floors. There will also be 2,500 parking spaces. Guests can also walk along the
enclosed crosswalk that connects the A-train subway station and the casino.
Construction crews have been working 10 hour shifts to complete the new casino's
first phase. 1,300 construction workers have been hired for the project. When
the casino opens, one thousand full time employees will be hired.
