PRESS RELEASE
December 06, 2016
Kewadin Casinos Christmas will host an evening of winter wonder, festive food
and holiday fun on Thursday, Dec. 8. The evening's highlight will be a ceremony
to light a giant outdoor Christmas tree at 6 p.m.
The community tree-lighting ceremony will be an outdoor, family-friendly
festival - a nice start to the holiday season. Kewadin's tree this year rivals
the size of the tree outside the state Capitol building, with lights and other
decorations. Guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the Christmas ambiance as
free hot cocoa, hot cider and venison chili is served inside a heated tent.
The entire property has undergone a holiday makeover. Some new pieces include a
20-foot Santa, life-size Mr. and Mrs. Claus, elves from the North Pole, candy
cane-wrapped beams, modernized dining and revamped menus.
Visitors who go inside will find an entirely new restaurant, Frosty's Pub ‘n
Grub, offering unique food items and craft beer. The facility overhaul has
brought the Christmas spirit to Kewadin Christmas Casino.
"We're excited to host this fun-filled holiday celebration," said Kewadin
Casinos CEO Michael Olujic. "These latest property enhancements, coupled with
community events, are just another way Kewadin Casinos is offering excitement
and entertainment opportunities throughout the eastern U.P."
The latest changes to the Christmas casino are part of a year-long rebranding
campaign by Kewadin Casinos to revitalize its five Upper Peninsula casinos. The
changes include adding hundreds of new slots, new dining options and special
themes to make gaming even more fun at Northern Michigan's premier casino
properties.
