Ground has been broken on the new expansion project for the Treasure Island Resort and Casino. The project will cost $86 million to complete.
Two hotel towers will be built. The resort currently has 500 rooms. The new towers will add 300 more guest rooms.
The completion is excepted to be by the end of 2017.
The new hotel towers will be connected to the current hotel. One of the new towers will be 8 stories. The other new tower will be 7 stories tall.
The upper floors will have views of the Prairie Island bluffs. There will be 60 suites on the upper floors.
The casino resort is owned by the The Prairie Island Indian Community.
