Earlier this year, plans to increase the size of the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino were announced. However the new casino CEO is reevaluating those plans.
The casino is owned by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Originally the expansion project would have increased the gaming venue by three times. Additional dinning options and game tables were also planned. Also, a hotel with six floors would be built. The plans were based around guest needs and desires for when they visit the casino.
It is believed that even in a heavy gaming market, the expansion project would pay off for the casino. Location of the casino is the main reason why. 251 additional jobs would be created if the project is approved.
Reeve was asked to take a look at the proposed project and see if there is an alternative to the current plan. That plan would need to have tribal approval.
There is no deadline for the alternative plan to be submitted.
