The Motor City Casino has undergone a transformation to rival any other casino in the area. After three years and $300 million renovation the casino is ready to compete as an entertainment destination for Detroit. In addition to the expansion of the casino's gaming area, they have added a hotel with 400 rooms and 33 suites. Also new is a day spa, eight new bars and restaurants, and convention space.
The Sound Board, a theater with 1,886 seats for live entertainment was also built. The theater offers private suites that include a bar and butler. The Sound Board has digital video, lighting and sound systems. The venue can also convert the bottom floor into a disco. Live acts that will open the theater will be announced later in the week.
The spa D.Tour, defines itself as the "Urban Spa Experience". It is an 8,000 square foot facility featuring both men's and women's lounges, whirlpools, steam rooms, dry saunas, and rain showers. They also provide a selection of massage, facial, and body treatments.
The Motor City Casino and Hotel also incorporates the historic Wagner Baking Company building that was built in 1915. This 93 year old Detroit landmark was the former Wonder Bread Bakery. As part of the renovation, the building has been fully restored to its original condition.
