The Massachusetts Gaming Commission was presented updated renderings in January
of the Wynn Everett Casino Resort along Mystic River. The casino is estimated to
cost $1.7 billion to complete.
On Thursday a meeting was held with Wynn and the gaming commission to discuss
terms on taxation. Over the 15 years that the casino license is active, millions
of tax dollars will be paid to the city. As well as the cost of improvements for
transportation to the area.
Modifications to the community will result in $210 million. A majority of that
will be used for road improvements by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation
The city will also be paid a daily tax of 25% from the gross revenues earned at
the resort. In 15 years that could be over $355 million.
Shuttles, water transportation, and the orange line will also receive over $205
