EAST BOSTON - The owners of Suffolk Downs are the first to apply for a casino license under the new Massachusetts casino law. They submitted their preliminary paperwork and a non-refundable $400,000 filing fee for a proposed casino at their thoroughbred race track in East Boston. This was one day after the Massachusetts Gaming Commission began accepting application fees. For more information about the application process, see our page about the Massachusetts Casino Bill 2011.
