BATON ROUGE, LA - The Louisiana Gaming Control Board unanimously approved construction plans for Pinnacle's $350 million Sugarcane Bay resort. Construction will be done at the site since no shipyard is available until 2011 due to the current oil boom in the Gulf of Mexico.
Sugarcane Bay will be a tropical-themed casino with a 400-room hotel, several restaurants, a golf course, and a n arena.
It will be located near Pinnacle's L'Auberge Du Lac casino which opened in May 2005. The L'Auberge Du Lac has been financially successful and last month exceeded all other Louisiana riverboat casinos in revenues with $26.5 million.
