$170 million expansion plan has been announced for the Pala Casino Spa & Resort.
Construction is scheduled to begin October of this year. It is expected to be
completed by Spring 2019.
A new hotel tower will be built. This will add 349 guest rooms. The suites will
have a view of the event lawn for the Starlight Theater and the pool area. The
current pool will be transformed in multiple pools and entertainment area. The
current hotel tower will be updated. The promenade will be totally renovated.
The casino floor will be expanded and add a new bar area. The casino will be
updated. There will also be an expansion of the parking garage.
When the hotel portion is finished, there will be 854 guest rooms and suites.
Each will have updated amenities.
The casino will grow from 90,000 square feet to over 102,000 square feet. The
amount of casino games in operation will increase as well. There will be 88
table games and 2,500 video and slot machines.
The Pala Casino Spa & Resort first opened over 16 years ago. It has undergone
three major renovations and expansions since that time. The continuing goal for
each one has been to raise the bar on guest experience and standards at the
resort.
400 new construction jobs will be created by the project. When completed there
will be an additional 200 permanent jobs. There are 2,000 people that are
employed currently at the casino resort.
