A special celebration has been planned for the completed expansion project at
Santa Ynez's Chumash Casino Resort.
The $165 million expansion took two years to complete.
There is a new 12 story hotel tower. The spa has been expanded with nine
treatment rooms, There is a roof top pool. A new ventilation system has been
added to remove smoke from the air.
The casino gaming floor is also larger. 2,300 new slot machines will be in
operation. Phone charging stations have been added to poker tables. The Higher
Limits gaming area is not 7,800 square feet. This is three times the original
size.
A provisional liquor license has also been approved. The new Center Bar will be
able to serve mixed drinks in addition to wine and beer.
New flat screen TVs have been placed on the walls so guests can watch sporting
games and news.
In 2004 the casino resort opened. At that time, the hotel had 106 guest rooms
and 19 suites. Now there are 320 guest rooms and 55 suites.
500 parking spots have also been added.
A party will be held this weekend with Stevie Wonder performing. Also, on July
31 there will be a car giveaway.
