With all votes counted for, the people of Oregon voted against a casino. The casino was to be built at the previous Multnomah Kennel Club dog track. The total vote count was 68% against with on 32% for it. The East County casino was to be called Wood Village Park. Plans included restaurants, a bowling alley, a water slide, concert hall, and movie theaters. Financing for the project was coming from a company based in Canada. Supporters of the bill believe that the casino project would have brought great economic development to East County. Historically 21 other states have also denied casinos the first time they were on the ballot. Supporters are hopeful to reintroduce the bill again for the next election in 2012.
