Oklahoma casino revenue up
September 28, 2009
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma state revenue from Indian casinos hit a high of
$106 million in fiscal 2009 despite the national recession according to state
finance officials.
While government revenues from gaming are down nationwide, Oklahoma revenues
have continued to grow:
2009 $106 million
2008 $ 81 million
2007 $ 47 million
2006 $ 14 million
2005 $ 2.3 million
State treasurer Scott Meacham says Indian gaming has been so successful that it
may be pulling lottery revenue down. Lottery revenue fell from $72 million in
fiscal year 2008 down to $69 million.
