Hard Rock Casino grand opening is August 3rd
July 20, 2009
CATOOSA, OK - It's a new name and a new era for the former Cherokee Casino in
Catoosa! It is now the Hard Rock Casino with a grand opening celebration
scheduled for August 3rd. The event will be packed with stars such as Toby
Keith to open the new Toby Keith's Bar and Grill.
When David Stewart, CEO of Cherokee Nation Entertainment, was asked if he ever
thought he would see a Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa, he said, "Absolutely not! When
we talked to Hard Rock they kind of said Tulsa? Then we brought them here and
they saw our property and they saw the dynamic of Tulsa, one that's a little bit
rock-n-roll and a little bit country,"
Stewart says the new casino will display rock 'n roll memorabilia, like Eric
Clapton's guitar, records, paintings, and photos of legendary artists.
"We believe people will actually travel a pretty good distance to come here,
"Stewart said. "We're going to see some Texas travel, Missouri, even Arkansas
and Kansas, because people want to come to Hard Rock."
There will be 2,300 games all under one roof, a new nightclub, restaurants,
jewelry store and of course a Hard Rock store. The new Hard Rock suites are
loaded with luxuries with some as large as 1,200 square feet.
