WinStar World Casino has grand opening on New Year’s Eve

The WinStar World Casino officially unveiled its new gaming expansion on New Year’s Eve making it one of the top five largest casinos in the world. The casino floor has doubled in size to 519,000 square feet and the number of electronic gaming machines has tripled to 5,800.

The grand celebration extended through the weekend and included performances by ZZ Top, Patty Labelle, and Tony Bennett.

At ten minutes into January 1st, there was a “Midnight Millionaire” drawing and a lucky winner was announced. She was an unemployed woman from Fort Worth, Texas. Five new cars and other prizes were also given away over the holiday weekend.

“The WinStar World expansion is one of the biggest things to come to Oklahoma in quite some time and we believe our grand opening and premier will reflect that,” said Andrea Horner, Chief Marketing Officer. “This celebration is going to be one for the ages.”
