Sonoma Supervisor Pass Over Casino Ballot Measure

SANTA ROSA, CA - County Supervisors decided not to seek a June 3rd ballot measure for an advisory vote by county residents on future casino development. The deadline for submitting measures is March 7th. The supervisors will have another opportunity later this year for placing a casino measure on November 4th ballot.

There are two major casinos planned in Sonoma County.
  • Cloverdale
    City Council members are moving to place an advisory measure on the November ballot for the new casino planned by the Cloverdale Rancheria.
     
  • Rohnert Park
    Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria are working on plans for a large destination casino-hotel resort.

About the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria
The tribe consists of both Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo people. Their ancestral lands include all of Marin and southern Sonoma counties. The Coast Miwok are from the areas of Novato, Marshall, Tomales, San Rafael, Petaluma and Bodega. The Southern Pomo people are from the Sebastopol area.
