Hard Rock Las Vegas moves closer to construction

Hard Rock International is another step closer to transforming The Mirage into the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas. Last week the Clark County Zoning Commission voted unanimously to accept a performance agreement for construction of the guitar-shaped hotel tower at the current site of the Mirage volcano. The performance agreement outlines the terms of the project's completion and provides a guarantee that all obligations will be fulfilled.

After the commission's meeting a Hard Rock representative declined to answer questions regarding next steps, schedules and timelines.

The hotel at Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a 36-story tower shaped as a guitar and reaching 660 feet high. The tower will have 596 guest rooms and suites plus a pool, spa, fitness center and salon.

Hard Rock guitar tower gets go-ahead to replace Mirage volcano

Clark County commissioners have given approval to Hard Rock's plan to builda guitar-shaped hotel on the site of the Mirage volcano. The commissioners met in a zoning meeting last week and voted unanimously in favor of the plan.

Hard Rock Las Vegas will build a 36-story tower shaped like a guitar. The guitar will reach 660 feet high. Guest rooms and suites in the tower will total 596. The existing Mirage rooms and villas will be completely renovated for a total of 3,640 rooms at the Hard Rock Las Vegas.

The construction schedule for the hotel will be announced in a few months. The opening date is expected to be in 2025.

Hard Rock International is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
