Two years after construction began, Hard Rock Las Vegas' guitar-shaped hotel tower is nearing a major exterior milestone. New photos show most of the signature blue-glass facade now in place as the $4 billion resort remains on track for a 2027 opening.

Guitar Hotel Exterior Progress
The tower-s signature blue-glass facade - built from two distinct shades to create the guitar body and string tones - is climbing steadily up the structure. Multiple vertical bands now define the curvature of the tower, giving the building its first true Hard Rock identity on the Strip skyline.
Installation of the LED guitar-string lighting system has begun, with mounting hardware visible along the tower-s front face. Once complete, these illuminated strings will run the full height of the building and become one of Las Vegas- most recognizable nighttime features.
Interior Build-Out and MEP Work
Inside the Guitar Tower, construction has transitioned into the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) phase. Guest-room framing is underway floor-by-floor, and interior redevelopment continues across the former Mirage-s tri-tower complex, where Hard Rock is reconfiguring rooms, casino areas, and back-of-house operations to meet brand standards.
Construction Timeline and Opening Date
Hard Rock continues to target a late-2027 opening, and current progress - including the shift to a 24/7 construction schedule - remains aligned with that timeline.
As exterior and interior milestones stack up, the Guitar Hotel is steadily moving from structural landmark to fully realized Hard Rock resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

Plans revealed for a 42-story Guitar Hotel replacing the Mirage volcano.

Phase 1 Guitar Hotel & resort transformation
Phase 1 includes the 42-story Guitar Hotel, a rebuilt casino floor, new restaurants, Hard Rock Live theater, renovated pool complex, and redesigned porte-cochere and entry experience.
Phase 2 - Expanded entertainment & amenities
Future additions may include expanded retail, additional dining concepts, and enhancements to the pool and entertainment district along the Strip frontage.
Phase 3 - Long-term vision
Long-term plans include further expansion of entertainment venues, additional hotel capacity, and continued development of the Hard Rock brand presence on the Strip.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida owns Hard Rock International and is transforming the former Mirage into Hard Rock Las Vegas as part of its global expansion. The project represents one of the most significant tribal economic development ventures in the history of the Las Vegas Strip.
