The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe will open a temporary casino this summer in Leggett, Texas about 80 miles north of Houston. The casino will be the first step in building the larger Naskila Casino Resort, which will offically break ground on June 18, 2026.

A strategic first step toward the Naskila Casino Resort
The temporary casino is designed as a preview facility, giving the tribe an opportunity to begin operations before construction begins on the permanent resort. Tribal leaders say the interim venue will help build momentum, generate revenue for tribal programs, and demonstrate the economic potential of a full-scale resort in Polk County.
The temporary facility will operate under the tribe's existing authority to offer Class II electronic bingo gaming, the same category of gaming currently offered at the tribe's long-running Naskila Gaming facility.

In 2025, the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Indian Gaming Commission confirmed that the tribe's Leggett trust land is eligible for gaming, clearing a major legal hurdle. This determination allows the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe to move forward with both the temporary casino and the long-term resort plan.
The tribe has also engaged FFKR Architects, a firm known for tribal resort design, to lead planning for the permanent Naskila Casino Resort.
