Chinook Winds Casino Resort

The Chinook Winds Casino Resort began as the Chinook Winds Gaming Center in May 1995. The casino was housed in a temporary 10,000 sq-ft tent with 250 slot machines, 12 card table and a deli. On June 28, 1996 the Siletz tribe opened the current Chinook Winds Casino Resort and added the hotel in 2004.

Chinook Winds Casino reopens again Friday

January 13, 2021

Chinook Winds Casino Resort will reopen at 10 AM Friday Jan 15 for the first time since shutting down Dec. 1 due to COVID-19. The reopening will introduce new health protocols and safety procedures along with limited capacities.

Limited Capacity

• New Casino Hours: 10AM-2AM Monday-Friday and 8AM-2AM Saturday-Sunday

• Guest capacity is limited to 1,000

• Slot machines will be 50% available

• Table games will be limited to every other table and 3 players per table

• Poker remains closed

• Bingo is limited to 300 seats

• Lodging reopens without in-room stayover service

Health Protocols

• Non-smoking propery

• Facemasks required for all guests and workers

• Physical distancing will be aided with markers, signs and mobile queuing

• Non-contact infrared temperature checks for all guests and workers

• Hand sanitizer dispensers at key contact areas

Chinook Winds Casino will host Siletz Tribe's 42nd Annual Restoration Powwow

November 14, 2019

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians will celebrate its 42nd Annual Restoration Powwow on Saturday Nov.16 at Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City.

The public is invited to this family event. Native American art, jewelry, and other hand-crafted items will be on display for sale. The grand entry is scheduled for 6 PM.

The powwow commemorates the anniversary of the 1977 restoration of the Siletz Tribe as a sovereign nation with official recognition from the federal government.

Chinook Winds is opening Sports Betting Lounge Aug 27

The Oregonian reported yesterday that Chinook Winds Casino open sports betting Aug. 27

August 19, 2019

While the Oregon Lottery is preparing to relaunch legalized sports wagering soon, the Chinook Winds Casino website has announced the casino will soon open a sportsbook inside its casino.

The Chinook Winds Casino webpage reads: "Add excitement to nearly every pro sport by laying a wager at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. Our new Sports Wagering Lounge is soon to open!"

The webpage continues with a list of House Rules for the sporting events that can be wagered. Minimum betting age is 21. Football will include both professional and college games.

The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, owners of the Chinook Winds Casino, as well as all other Oregon gaming tribes, have negotiated compacts with the state that auhorizes them to offer the same games that are offered by the Oregon Lottery. The tribal casinos can partner with any sports betting operator they chose, and can offer alternatives to SBTech which is selected by the lottery.

In addition to the information on the sports wagering page, there are job openings posted for Sport Book Attendants.

"Provide technical information to Keno and Sports Book players. Explain the Keno game to potential players. Explain Sports Wagering lines to potential players. Walk through designated area promoting and selling games. Process wagers, collect money for wagers and enter information into the keno and sports book system. Scan customer's tickets, calculate winnings, and pay winners."

Chinook Winds Casino Celebrates 24th Anniversary

Chinook Winds Casino Resort is celebrating the 24th anniversary of its June 28, 1996 opening. Special promotions and events are scheduled for visitor June 17-23. These include the following:

• Starting June 17 Noon to 7:30 PM, Winners Circle members can earn entries every half hour for points and cash. Winners at the top of each hour will receive Winners Circle points. Winners at the bottom of each hour will receive $124 cash or more.

• June 20 & 21 8 PM - Country music performer Clay Walker (tickets $40-$55)

• June 22 10 PM - Annual Fireworks Display

• June 22 & 23 8 PM to Midnight.- Country singer Briana Renea at Chinook's Seafood Grill

Chinook Winds Casino replaced the "Chinook Winds Gaming Center" that opened the year before in a tent with 250 slot machines, 12 table games and a deli. In 2004 the oceanfront hotel next to the casino was purchased. Then in 2005 a 79-acre golf course was added and named the Chinook Winds Golf Resort.

New Parking Garage Added to Chinook Winds

December 13, 2019

The Chinook Winds Casino Resort has completed construction of a new parking garage with 380 vehicle spaces.

The parking garage is located at 1777 NW 44th Street in Lincoln City. It is a hundred feet northwest of the Chinook Winds Casino Resort. There are plans to eventually to connect the garage and the casino with a skywalk.

To celebrate the opening of the new parking structure, the Tribal Council and the casino management schedule a public ribbon cutting ceremony to be held at the garage at noon December 13.
