All Lucky Star Casino locations are closed due to a ransomware attack over the weekend. No reopening date is announced. The FBI is investigating the case but will not comment nor issue a statement at this time.
Ransomware typically enters a computer network from an email attachment, a malicious website, or a web ad click. It attacks and locks the network computers and sometimes encrypts the files and folders. The hackers then demand a ransom to release the computer system.
Officials of Lucky Star Casinos acknowlege a ransomware attack and released the following statement. They have not disclosed the amount of the ransom demand.
