The new Osage Casino & Hotel in Pawhuska opened on Oct. 5, 2023 replacing the original Osage casino, which had operated across the street since 2003. The new Pawhuska casino has 260 gaming machines, a restaurant, a 47-room hotel, and meeting space for special events.

New Pawhuska Casino
In October 2023 the Osage Nation replaced its Pawhuska casino with a new, larger casino, which includes a hotel. The Pawhuska casino lies on 63 acres at the intersection of Highways 99 and 60. Construction took 15 months to complete after the groundbreaking on June 15, 2021.

The original Osage Casino in Pawhuska was located across the street from the new casino, where it had operated since 2003.

Federal Approval
The Osage Nation filed an application with the U.S. Interior Department in 2016 seeking transfer of 63 acres of land at Highways 99 and 60 into federal trust for the purpose of building an Indian gaming casino and hotel. The application was approved in July 2020.

Osage Casinos

Osage Casino in Pawhuska is one of seven Osage Casinos owned and operated by the Osage Nation. The other six are in the Oklahoma cities of Bartlesville, Hominy, Ponca City, Sand Springs, Skiatook and Tulsa.

Pawhuska Osage Casino Opens October 5, 2023

The all-new Osage Casino & Hotel in Pawhuska will hold its grand opening on October 5th. A soft opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held October 4th for Osage tribal members.

The new Osage Pawhuska casino will total 87,808 square feet and feature 250 slot machines, restaurants, a 47-room hotel, 3,000 square feet of event space, 3,675 square feet of meeting space, and banquet rooms. The casino site is 60 acres located across the highway from the existing Osage casino.

The opening date is a year later than originally planned. Construction began in June 2021 with the expected finish date to be in Fall 2022. The delay was due to a combination of supply chain problems and increased building cost.

When the new Pawhuska casino opens at 1421 John Dahl Ave, the old Pawhuska casino at 2017 East 15th Street & Hwy 99 will be permanently closed.

Construction of a new Osage casino in Bartlesville has been underway at the same time as the Pawhuska casino. The new Bartlesville casino is expected to open in a few months. No date has been set.

The new Osage Casino in Pawhuska will be larger than the existing casino located across the street. That casino has operated since 2003 and features 175 slot machines. There is no hotel. The new Pawhuska casino will have Class III gaming with 250 slot machines, table games, and a hotel.

Osage Casino Hotel Pawhuska - Construction Update - March 2023

This video tour of the new Osage Casino and Hotel in Pawhuska was released last week by Osage News. The video was filmed Feb. 23, 2023, during a media tour of the construction site to show the progress made in building the new facility. The grand opening of the new Pawhuska casino and hotel is expected in November 2023.

The new gaming floor will be larger the one at the existng Pawhuska casino, and it will feature more slot machines (250 total). The new hotel will offer 47 rooms.

The casino tour was led by Osage Casinos CEO Kimberly Pearson and Pawhuska Osage Casinos General Manager Mason Shackelford.

Osage Casino Pawhuska: Construction Update - Feb 2023

The existing Osage Casino in Pawhuska will be replaced by a new casino and hotel before the end of this year. Construction of the new casino is underway on a 60-acre site at 1421 John Dahl Ave. in Pawhuska. In a statement last week from the Osage Casinos CEO, the Pawhuska casino construction is "on schedule" for completion and the grand opening late this year.

"The nation ran into some supply chain issues, much like the rest of the country, that delayed us by roughly a year. But we are now back on schedule and excited to bring this new facility to the nation. ... the Pawhuska location should be open by the end of the year."

The new Osage Casino Pawhuska will feature 250 slot machines, nearly double the existing number. The hotel will have 47 rooms, pool, spa, fitness center, and nearly 4,000 sq-ft of meeting space.

New Osage Casino Pawhuska opening delayed to Nov. 2023

The new Osage Casino in Pawhuska was expected to open this Fall. However, delays in building materials have slowed construction and a new opening date has been announced as Nov. 10, 2023. This new date, of course, could be changed again by new labor and materials issues.

The new Osage Casino in Pawhuska is under construction across the highway from the existing Osage casino. The new casino will feature 250 gaming machines, and a 47-room hotel with a pool, spa and fitness center.

Osage Nation breaks ground on Pawhuska replacement casino

June 17, 2021

The Osage Nation broke ground Tuesday on a new casino and hotel located across the street from the tribe's current Pawhuska casino. When completed in the Fall of 2022, the new casino will replace the existing Osage casino in Pawhuska.
