Coweta Casino Hotel

The Muscogee Nation is building a new casino hotel near Tulsa named Coweta Casino Hotel. The location is a 17-acres site about 25 miles southeast of downtown Tulsa at the southeast corner of East 131st Street South and State Highway 51 in Coweta, Oklahoma.

The $100 million project will total 104,000 square feet and include a 35,000 square-foot casino with 750 slot machines, a center bar, restaurant, a hotel with 46 rooms, and meeting/event space.

The Coweta Casino Hotel will total 104,000 square feet with a casino, hotel, and event and meeting space. The casino will feature a 35,000 square-foot gaming floor with 750 slot machines and a center bar and a full-service restaurant. The hotel will feature 46 rooms, pool, fitness center, and meeting and event space for 150 guests.

Coweta Casino Hotel is scheduled to open in Spring 2026.

The Muscogee Nation will celebrate the groundbreaking for the new $100 million Coweta Casino Hotel during the first week of November, 2024. The exact time and date is expected to be announced within the next few days. The location will be the southeast corner of 131st Street and State Hwy 51.

The 18-month construction project will build a 104,000 square-foot casino and hotel, which will open in the Spring 2026. The casino will have a 35,000-square-foot gaming floor with 750 slot machines. The hotel will feature 46 guest rooms, a pool, fitness center, and meeting or event space for 150 people.

Coweta Casino Hotel is both welcomed and opposed

The Muscogee Nation plan to build a $100 million casino and hotel in the City of Coweta, OK, is supported by city officials, but opposed by some local residents.

The casino will be built on a 17-acre site owned by the Muscogee Nation on the southeast corner of State Highway 51 and 131st Street. The land has been transferred into federal trust giving it tribal sovereignty over local and state jurisdictions.

Coweta's city manager is highly supportive of the Muscogee Nation's casino project.

"The Muscogee Nation has been a strong champion of the community surrounding this tribal land, providing funding for several infrastructure projects over the years. We welcome our new neighbors and look forward to a successful partnership, continuing to work with tribal leaders to support our shared vision of economic growth, job creation, and important investments that this project will bring to the area."

An opposition group comprised of Coweta residents has begun a petition drive to block the casino and allow only the hotel and restaurant. The group is concerned about crime levels and other domestic issues that can occur from casino gambling.

Casteen told the opposition group the city has no legal jurisdiction over the use of the land, and keeping a safe environment for the city is a top priority of both the city and the Muscogee Creek Nation.

New Coweta Casino Hotel is coming in 2026

A new casino hotel is coming to the greater Tulsa area in 2026. On July 25 the Muscogee Nation announced plans to build the Coweta Casino Hotel in Coweta, OK. The $100 million project will break ground in September with construction taking about 18 months. The grand opening will be in the Spring 2026.
