The new Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino celebrated its grand opening August 27, 2013. It is located in Buffalo's Inner Harbor area on nine acres the tribe owns along South Park Avenue and Perry Street. The new casino replaces a temporary slots-only casino that operated since 2007.
The original plans were to build a larger casino with hotel, but that project was later downsized from $333 million to $130 million. The casino was reduced from a 90,000 square-foot casino with 2,000 slot machines and 45 table games to a a 65,000-square-foot casino with 800 slot machines and 16 table games. The hotel plan was cancelled.
$40 Million Expansion Plan (Early 2017)
In Aug 2015 the Seneca Indian Nation announced a $40 million plan for a two-story expansion of the Buffalo Creek Casino. It added 57,000-square-feet, 300 slot machines, more table games, a non-smoking area and a steakhouse restaurant. The expansion will bring the casino gaming to 1,100 slot machines and about 30 table.
The first floor will include a high-limit room, a larger non-smoking area, a live performance stage at the Stixx Sports Bar, and an expanded Buffalo Savors Grill. The second floor will host a new restaurant offering indoor and outdoor seating.

The Erie Canal Harbor Station for the Metro Rail is expecting to have the naming rights given to the Seneca Gaming Corp.
A contract has been approved by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. Over the next four years $130,000 will be paid for the rebranding of the station. The station will be renamed "Buffalo Creek Casino at Canalside".
Seneca Gaming's Buffalo Creek Casino is located a few blocks south of the station. It is at the site of the former Memorial Auditorium.
After the four year contact has expired, Seneca Gaming will have the option to renew the contract.
By January 01 the station is scheduled to be repainted in the company colors.Back
