Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino opened as a temporary slots-only casino in 2007. That was replaced with a permanent casino on August 27, 2013.

Buffalo Creek Casino is located in the Inner Harbor area on nine acres the tribe owns along South Park Avenue and Perry Street.

The original plans were to build a larger casino with hotel, but that project was later downsized from $333 million to $130 million. The casino was reduced from a 90,000 square-foot casino with 2,000 slot machines and 45 table games to a a 65,000-square-foot casino with 800 slot machines and 16 table games. The hotel plan was cancelled.

$40 Million Expansion

In Aug 2015 the Seneca Indian Nation announced a $40 million plan for a two-story expansion of the Buffalo Creek Casino. The project added 57,000-square-feet, 250 slot machines, 30 table games, a non-smoking area and The WD Bar & Grille.

Seneca Casinos named sportsbook partner of NHL Buffalo Sabres

The NHL Buffalo Sabres announced last week that the Seneca Resorts & Casinos are now the team's exclusive sportsbook partner.

In October the tribe opened the Seneca Sports Lounge at KeyBank Center, the home arena of the Sabres. The sports lounge includes enough space to operate a future sportsbook.

Sports betting will begin this month at three Seneca casinos: Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino.

The Sabres' are owned by Pegula Sports & Entertainment, which also owns the NFL Buffalo Bills. The Bills announced a similar partnership with the Seneca Resorts in September. Seneca Resorts is a subsidiary of Seneca Gaming Corporation, the tribally-owned corporation for the gaming operations of the Seneca Nation.

Seneca Casinos named 'Official Casino of the Buffalo Bills'

Last week the NFL's Buffalo Bills named Seneca Resorts and Casinos its official casino partner.

Seneca Resorts and Casinos owns Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in Salamanca, Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo and Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls.

The partnership between the Seneca and the Bills will bring more special promotions and opportunities to the fans, Seneca advertising and marketing at the Stadium and the launch of Seneca Studios at One Bills Drive.

Both partners promise more announcements in the near future.

Buffalo Creek Casino to buy naming rights to Metro Rail station

The Erie Canal Harbor Station for the Metro Rail is expecting to have the naming rights given to the Seneca Gaming Corp.

A contract has been approved by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. Over the next four years $130,000 will be paid for the rebranding of the station. The station will be renamed "Buffalo Creek Casino at Canalside".

Seneca Gaming's Buffalo Creek Casino is located a few blocks south of the station. It is at the site of the former Memorial Auditorium.

After the four year contact has expired, Seneca Gaming will have the option to renew the contract.

By January 01 the station is scheduled to be repainted in the company colors.
