Hollywood Casino is excited about sports betting

Officals at Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway are excited about sports betting coming to Kansas. The casino is one of four that are authorized to operate a sports book under the new state law.

The former "Epic Buffet" will be converted into a new area to feature sports wagering.

"It'll be a wonderful full sit down restaurant, enormous bar in the center, plenty of betting kiosks.

"We're going to get this open as soon as possible," Skinner said. "Our objective is to get this open before football season, so people right at the beginning of the season can come in and put their bets on the Chiefs to win."

The new law requires sports betting to be fully operational before January 1, 2023. Hollywood Casino hopes to launch its sports betting opertional during the upcoming football season.
