The $1 billion expansion of Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park is one of the largest in the state. When completed in 2027, Graton will be the second largest casino resort in California (next to Yaamava' Resort Casino in Southern California.

Hard Rock Fire Mountain is planning the largest casino expansion in the nation 30 miles north of Sacramento. This will be a multi-phase, $4 billion construction project to add an entertainment district, retail shopping, more dining, a rodeo and fairgrounds, and family-orientated areas.

The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, which own and operate Red Hawk Casino, is planning a major development project in downtown Sacramento. Although plans have not been finalized, the tribe has recently purchased two key properties:
301 Capitol Mall
This is vacant land purchased in 2024.
Macy's Sacramento
The former Macy's building is vacant and located at 414 K Street was purchased in 2025.
Key Points:
Project is currently in the planning stage.
The tribe says it will combine both properties into one, large-scale downtown destination.
Plans that are being considered include a hotel, family entertainment, nightlife entertainment, and a museum or cultural center.

In 2023 Wilton Rancheria purchased 20 acres of land adjacent to its Sky River Casino to transform the property into a destination resort. The casino is only three years old having opened August 15, 2022.

This is a multi-phase project that began construction in 2024.
Phase 1: Parking and Access (Expected Completion: Early 2026)
Includes multi-level parking garage with 1,600 spaces, an enhanced Valet service area, a new Porte Cochere, and 400 additional slot machines.
Phase 2: Hotel and Resort Amenities (Expected Completion: Early 2027)
" Includes hotel with 300 rooms, a luxurious day spa, outdoor pool, and multi-use meeting, event, and entertainment space. There will also a new High Limit room and VIP gaming area.

Porterville, California
The new Eagle Mountain Casino, which relocated to a new location near the Porterville Airport in 2023, began construction in July 2025 on a new hotel and event center scheduled to open in 2027.

Includes five-story hotel with 103 rooms, a rooftop restaurant, full-service spa, pool and a lazy river. There will also be an event and convention center with 2,000 seats, and a family area with a new arcade.

Chicken Ranch Casino was originally opened as a bingo hall in 1985 in Jamestown, CA by the Chicken Ranch Rancheria of Me-Wuk Indians. Over time the bingo hall evolved into a casino, and in 2021 the tribe launched a major expansion project to rebuild the Chicken Ranch Casino into a casino resort.

After two years of construction, Hard Rock Tejon will open its casino near Mettler 15 miles south of Bakersfield on Nov. 13, 2025. A second phase of construction is expected to start soon in 2026 to build out the rest of the resort.

Jamul Casino just finished a $515 million expansion project to construct a new 16-story hotel tower, event center, and parking structure, along with renovating the casino. The project was completed in August 2025.

The new 16-story hotel is a AAA Four Diamond rating with 200 guest rooms including 52 suites, a rooftop pool, spa and salon, and a restaurant and bar. " There is also a 465-seat bingo hall, a 25,500 square-foot event center, and a new parking garage.
