Cannabis is illegal for all purposes in Virginia. Possession of a small amount is a criminal misdemeanor. In 2015 treatment of severe epilepsy using CBD oil was legalized.
There is only one federally-recognized tribes in Virginia, the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. The DOJ marijuana policy on tribal reservations applies to this Virginia tribe. The Pamunkey are federally recognized as sovereign by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the U.S. Interior Department.
