Palms Casino Resort Reopens Today!

Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas reopens today under the new ownership of the San Manuel Indian Tribe of California. The grand reopening celebration begins with fireworks this evening at 9PM. Hotel rooms are available beginning April 28, 2022.
Today marks the first time ever that a Native American tribe owns and operates a Las Vegas casino.

With the reopening there is a new look to the casino. The 95,000-square-foot casino floor has been updated with a new layout for slot machines and table games. The sports book has new screens, new seats and a lounge atmosphere. A new restaurant, Serrano Vista Cafe, joins the previous favorites: Scotch 80 Prime, Mabel's BBQ, A.Y.C.E. Buffet, Send Noodles, the Eatery, Tonic Bar, Unknown Bar, and Tim Ho Wan. The Ghostbar will reopen in a few months and the Pearl Theater will open this summer.
The Palms first opened in 2001. It was purchased in 2016 by Stations Casinos for $312.5 million, which completed a $690 million renovation in April 2019. The Palms closed for COVID-19 in March 2020 and was purchased for $650 million by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in December 2021.

After closing for the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago, the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas will reopen under new management on April 27. The hotel will reopen April 28. The Ghostbar and the Pearl Theater will reopen this summer.

The new Palms will have an updated casino floor with a new layout for slot machines and table games. The 14 movie theaters have been updated with new reclining seats, an American gastro-pub named Serrano Vista Cafe has been added, and a new rewards program, Club Serrano, is ready. Club Serrano is shared with players at the Yaamava' resort and casino located three and a half hours away in Highland, California.
The new owner of the Palms is the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians of Southern California. The tribe purchased the casino resort last year for $650 million and spent an additional $100 million in upgrades and reopening expenses. The Palms is the first Las Vegas casino owned by a Native American tribe.
The San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority has not yet announced the reopening date for the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas; however, an extensive effort is underway to open in the next few months. Daily hiring events were completed earlier in March to fill up to 1,200 job positions.
The San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority is the management company for the Palms Casino Resort. San Manuel is spending $100 million for new capital expenditures and opening expenses at The Palms.
San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority is owned by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in Highland, California. The tribe bought The Palms for $650 million from Red Rock Resorts in May 2021. The deal was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission on December 16, 2021.
First Native American casino in Las Vegas is hiring

When San Manuel purchased The Palms last year, the tribe announced it would reopen the resort casino in the spring 2022. Although an exact date is not set, The Palms has scheduled hiring events starting next week.

When the San Manuel Indians reopen the Palms Las Vegas this spring, the famous Ghostbar will also reopen.
The announcement about the Ghostbar was made last week on the Palms Twitter account. The message included a statement to "Stayed tuned for details" about the new Ghostbar.

Ghostbar is a 8,000-square-foot rooftop nightclub on the 55th floor of the Palms and features dancing, drinks and spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip. Ghostbar opened in 2001 but has been closed since March 2020.
The San Manuel Tribe will reopen the Palms this spring with major changes to its restaurants, entertainment, sportsbook, and other features to attract local residents. Lont-term changes are also planned.

Rooftop Pool Complex San Manuel plans a new rooftop pool complex with views of the Vegas Strip. Details are pending, however this addition should be attractive to locals as well as tourists.
Kaos Nightclub Closed The Kaos nightclub will remain closed. A future replacement has not be announced.
Sportsbook The sportsbook will be upgraded and space may be downsized.
Free Parking No more paid parking should be attractive to locals.
Restaurants Major changes are expected for the restaurants before the reopening. Details are pending. The food-court vendors will remain the same.
Name Change The casino will reopen as the Palms. However, a rebranding of the name is anticipated. A likely example is Palms by San Manuel. This would be consistent with last September's renaming of the San Manuel Casino in California to the Yaamava' Resort Casino at San Manual.
San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority is hiring 1,200 employees for the reopening of the Palms Casino Resort this spring. The company hopes this number will include 600 former employees who lost their jobs in March 2020 when the Palms shut down for COVID-19.

The Nevada Gaming Commission on Thursday approved the sale of the Palms Casino Resort to the San Manuel Indians and issued a new casino license to the tribe, which will reopen The Palms this coming spring 2022.

Hiring is now underway to recruit more than 1,000 workers. Job oppportunities include casino operations, hotel management, food and services and more.
According to the tribe, hotel reservations will be accepted early in 2022.

The purchase of the Palms Casino Resort has moved a step forward last week when the Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended approval of the sale. The full commission will meet Dec. 16th to vote on the final decision. The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians from Highland, California, has offered $650 million to Red Rock Resorts to buy the Palms properties.

San Manuel will buy Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians will buy the Palm Casino making it the first Native American owner of a Las Vegas casino. The San Manuel Indians will also be the second tribe to operate a casino in Las Vegas following the Mohegan Tribe which opened the Mohegan Sun Casino At Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in March 2021.

The San Manuel Indians will buy Palms Casino Resort for $650 million from Red Rock Resorts. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to finalize by the end of the year.
The Palms Casino Resort is located on Flamingo Road a mile west of Interstate 15. The property includes a 94,840-square-foot casino, a hotel with pool and spa, the Palms Place condominiums, a 2,500-seat entertainment venue, restaurants and meeting space.
