Graton Casino Expansion | Grand Opening May 4

Graton Resort & Casino is undergoing a $1 billion, multi-year expansion project that will open its first phase on May 4. The first phase includes a new 144,000 sq ft, non-smoking gaming floor with 2.000 more slot machines, 20 more table games, a new poker room and a high-limits slots lounge.
Along with the expanded casino, there will also be three new restaurants opening that day:
Aya (Rooftop Restaurant)
Aya will be a $40 million rooftop restaurant serving California coastal cuisine blended with Hawaiian and Filipino flavors. The 28,000-square-feet venue will provide indoor and outdoor seating for up to 480 guests. The menu will feature local oysters, Japanese Wagyu, locally-harvested produce, and a $1 million wine portfolio.
Playbook
Playbook will be an upscale sports bar with a chef driven menu, premium drinks, craft cocktails, and an elevated atmosphere.
SoCo Dough Co.
SoCo Dough Co. will specialize in gourmet doughnuts made with new favors, inventive combinations and premium ingredients.
Although the grand opening date of May 4th has been officially scheduled, there has been no announcement yet about the opening day ceremonies, commemorative souvenirs, promotions, or special entertainment.
After the grand opening of phase 1, construction will continue at Graton on the remaining phases of the expansion project. These include a five-story parking garage, a 3,500-seat concert theater, and a new 221-room htel wing. The total project will be completed in 2027.

Graton's massive casino expansion opens May 4, 2026

Graton Resort & Casino has announced the grand opening of its expanded casino and three new dining venues will be celebrated May 4, 2026 beginning at 6 pm. The press release was published yesterday in the Casino City Times.
Casino Expansion
The casino expansion will add a new 144,000-square-foot, non-smoking gaming floor with 2,000 new slot machines. The new total number of slot machines at Graton Casino will be 5,000, making it the largest casino in Northern California. It also makes Graton the third largest casino in California behind the 7,200 slots at Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel in Highland, CA and the 5,400 slots at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA.
Dining Expansion
Graton Casino & Resort will open three new dining venues on May 4th.
AYA will be a $40 million, rooftop restaurant spanning 28,000 square feet and offering panoramic views of the Sonoma Hills. The menu will feature Coastal California cuisine with Asian influences and a $1 million wine offering.
Playbook Sports Bar will be a 168-seat venue with wall-to-wall TV screens and serving comfort foods and the food favorites of sports fans.
SoCo Dough Co. will be a full-scale dessert venue specializing in handcrafted doughnuts.
Future Expansion
The expanded casino and new dining venues are part of a $1 billion expansion project that began in 2023. The project will be completed in 2027 when a new hotel tower with 200 guest rooms and an adults-only pool is opened.
