TUCSON, Ariz. - As the Nov. 15 opening date approaches, newly disclosed details about Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am are providing a clearer picture of the scope of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's newest gaming investment.
The approximately 163,000-square-foot property will become the tribe's third gaming facility and the first tribal casino operating within Tucson city limits. Located on the Old Pascua Community near Interstate 10 and Grant Road, the development expands the tribe's gaming enterprise into one of Southern Arizona's largest population centers.
Beyond increasing gaming capacity, the project is expected to create approximately 500 jobs and strengthen the tribe's position in the Tucson market through a combination of gaming, food-and-beverage and hospitality offerings.
According to publicly released project details, the property will feature 924 slot machines, including 56 high-limit games, along with table games, a dedicated high-limit lounge, poker room and SolSports sportsbook.
The gaming mix reflects a full-service operating model designed to attract a broad range of customers while complementing the tribe's existing casino portfolio. Dedicated sportsbook and poker amenities further align the property with evolving trends in regional gaming markets.
In addition to its gaming offerings, Vahi Taa'am will feature the 174-seat OP Grill, or Old Pascua Grill, the Sewa Market food hall and multiple bar concepts throughout the property.
The investment in food-and-beverage amenities reflects a broader industry strategy focused on increasing visitation, extending guest stays and diversifying revenue sources beyond gaming operations.
The property's name, Vahi Taa'am, translates to "Three Suns" in the Yoeme language and references the tribe's third gaming operation.
Its design incorporates Pascua Yaqui cultural influences and Sonoran Desert themes, highlighted by a signature 26-foot copper dome visible from Interstate 10. The property also features a large-scale interior mural by Tucson artist Joe Pagac.
The casino's location may ultimately prove as significant as its gaming amenities. Unlike the tribe's existing properties southwest of Tucson, Vahi Taa'am establishes a full-scale gaming operation within city limits and along one of the region's busiest transportation corridors.
The project is expected to generate approximately 500 jobs across gaming, hospitality, food and beverage, security and administrative functions while providing the Pascua Yaqui Tribe with a stronger foothold in the Tucson market.
When operations begin Nov. 15, Vahi Taa'am will represent one of Arizona's most significant tribal gaming developments of the year and a major milestone in the continued growth of the tribe's gaming enterprise.
Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am is scheduled to open Nov. 15.
