New Casino Del Sol Construction Update | July 2025

This drone video shows the latest progress at the construction site of the new Casino Del Sol on West Grant Road in Tucson. The location is east of I-10 at the former site of the Century Park 16 movie theater.

Construction of the new casino has been progressing steadily since the groundbreaking Jan. 13, 2025 and is on-schedule to open by November 2026.

This is the first of a two-phase construction plan:

Phase 1:
This phase of construction will open in early 2927 with a 73,000 sq-ft casino floorClass III slot machines and table games (quantities TBA), a high-limit room, poker room, and sportsbook. There will also be full-service restaurant, a food court with 4 venues, a quick-food outlet, a center bar, and a four-level parking garage.

Phase 2:
Phase 2 has not been scheduled but is expected to follow sometime later after the completion of Phase 1. The second phase will add a hotel, conference center, and another parking garage.

In June the Pascua Yaqui Tribe held a topping-off ceremony to celebrate the placement of the final beam onto the steel framework.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am Celebrates Construction Milestone

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe celebrated a major milestone Monday at the construction site of the new Casino Del Sol on Grant Road east of Interstate 10. The event, called a topping-off ceremony, celebrated the placement of the final beam onto the steel framework. Prior to hoisting the beam, the invited guests and construction crews signed their names on the beam, and a traditional pine tree was attached for good luck.

Construction of the new Casino Del Sol began last Jan. 13, 2025, following a groundbreaking ceremony. The casino is scheduled to open in late 2026. The casino will feature a the 73,000-square-foot casino floor with slot machines, table games, a high-limit room, a poker room and a sportsbook. The casino will open with a restaurant, a four-venue food court, bars including a center bar, and a four-level parking garage. Future plans may include a hotel, conference center, and an additional parking garage.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am | Job Opportunities

The Pascua Yaqui tribe has begun construction on a new Casino Del Sol near I-10 and Grant. The 172,000 square-foot project is expected to open in 2026 and add an economic boost around the Old Pascua community near downtown Tucson.

The 73,000 square-foot casino floor will feature Vegas-style slot machines, table games, a high-limit room, poker room, sportsbook, and players club. Dining options will include a full-=service restaurant, a 4-venue food court and a quick-food outlet. A hotel is not planned at this time, but may become a reality in time.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am | Groundbreaking is Today - Jan. 13, 2025

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe will celebrate the groundbreaking of its newest casino, Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am, this morning at 9:30 AM. The location is 1055 W. Grant Road at Interstate 10 and near the tribe's historical home of Old Pascua in downtown Tucson.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am is expected to open in 2026. The casino will feature a 73,000-square-foot gaming floor with slot machines, table games, high-limit room, poker room and a sportsbook. The number of slot machines and the number and types of table games have not been announced. Dining options will include a full-service restaurant, a food court with 4 venues, and a quick-food outlet. A four-level parking garage will provide 1,050 vehicle spaces, and surface parking will provide another 195 spaces. There are no plans for a hotel at this time, although a future construction project could add a hotel, conference center, and another parking garage.

Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am will be the third casino owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The tribes first casino is the Casino of the Sun and the second is Casino Del Sol. Both casinos are in Tucson.
