Win-River Casino in Redding, California will build a new casino, hotel and convention center at a new site along the Sacramento River about two miles from its present location. Plans include a 69,000 square-foot casino with 1,200 slot machines and 36 game tables, a 250-room hotel, an 1,800-seat event center and a 1,500-seat outdoor amphitheater. Existing Win-River Casino
Win-River Casino is an Indian gaming casino owned by the Redding Rancheria. The casino is located in Redding, California, a few miles off Interstate 5 and directly off Highway 273. Win-River features 600 slot machines, 12 table games, a restaurant, pub, hotel, RV park and the River Tasalmi Golf Club. Win-River Casino has operated at its current location since 1993. Relocation
In 2010 Redding Rancheria filed an application with the U.S. Department of Interior to restore 232 acres of land along Interstate 5 into reservation land. Federal approval was granted on July 1, 2024. The approval allows Win-River to relocate to the new location and build a new, larger casino with more features and amenities.
The relocation of the Win-River Casino is opposed by two California tribes who claim the new location is the site of the 1846 Sacramento River Massacre. The Wintu Tribe of Northern California, the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians and the Speak Up Shasta activist group have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Interior to stop the relocation.

Relocation & Expansion Plan
In November 2016 the Redding Rancheria submitted a land-to-trust application to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs. The tribe proposed moving 232 acres of off-reservation into federal trust for the purpose of building a new casino, hotel and convention center. The application was approved on July 1, 2024.
The new site is less than 2 miles from the existing Win-River Casino. The plan is to build a new 69,000 sq-ft casino with a 250-room hotel at the new site and convert the existing casino into other tribal uses.

The new Win-River Resort & Casino will feature a gaming floor that is three times larger than the existing casino. The new hotel will also be three times larger. In addition, there will be a conference center (10,080 sq-ft), an event center with 1,800 seats (52,200 sq-ft), an outdoor amphitheater with 1,500 seats, a retail facility, and parking for 2,656 vehicles.
