Catawba Two Kings Resort | Construction Update (Dec. 2025)
Catawba Two Kings Casino is expected to release a construction update soon for the casino and hotel under construction in Kings Mountain, NC. Work crews have been working feverishly since the last official announcement Oct. 27, 2025 when the final steel beam was hoisted into place at the top of the casino. The event was a major milestone marking the completion of the entire steel framework of the $1 billion casino project.
Since then, the progress continues at the Catwaba construction site as shown in this recent photograph. The picture was taken Dec. 17, 2025 and shows the casino structure in the foreground and the 24-floor hotel tower in the back.

Construction crews have installed much of the exterior enclosure on the casino structure and have begun work on the interior build out. The ground level will be completed in Februrary-March 2025 and open with an introductory casino, a restaurant and a bar. The casino will feature 1,336 slot machines and 22 table games, which will expand to 4,300 slot machines and 100 table games when the full resort is finished in Spring 2027.
Construction crews have not started the exterior enclosure work. The photo shows building materials are moving into place and interior walls with some infrastructures have been built. The hotel will feature 385 guest rooms and suites when it opens in Spring 2027.
