Overview
The Tribe is one of the largest federally recognized tribes in California, representing the North Fork Mono people of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The government provides services in housing, health, education, cultural preservation, and economic development.

North Fork Mono Casino Project
The Tribe is developing the North Fork Mono Casino on a 305-acre parcel located off Highway 99 north of Madera. The project includes:

The project has received federal approval and has survived multiple legal challenges. As of 2026, construction continues, though the Tribe has not announced a final opening date.
