The proposed Kenosha Casino plan has been denied by Gov. Scott Walker. The
decision will not be reconsidered.
Lawmakers met on Wednesday. After the meeting, Walker made his statement in
regards to the future of the casino project. Political leaders encouraged the
governor to change his mind. However, he refused.
The proposed casino would have cost $800 million to build.
The governor believes that the casino would have caused a loss of millions of
dollars to the state since the casino would be in violation of the current
gaming compact with another tribe.
Supporters of the casino believe that the Kenosha Casino project would create
many jobs. The job creation would be greatly helpful to the area.
