Gov. Scott Walker is being asked by the Menominee Nation to approve their proposed casino in Kenosha. However, the casino is still facing objection.

The Menominee Nation want to transform a former dog racing track into a casino. This would be an off reservation gaming facility.

However the governor has previously said that certain requirements must be met before he gives his approval. One of those being support from every tribe in the state. The Forest County Potawatomi and the Ho-Chunk Nation both oppose the casino project.

On Thursday Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald reported he opposes the Kenosha casino as well. He believes that if that casino project is approved, that it would allow for many other tribes to build casinos off of their reservation lands as well. There would be no way to stop them from doing so.
