The Kenosha Casino project has support from 8 of WI's federally recognized tribes. There are 11 tribes in the state.

The Menominee tribe is the group behind the proposed casino. They recently issued a press release about the casino. Stating that 8 of the 11 tribes should be enough for the Governor Scott Walker to grant permission to proceed. However, previously the governor stated he would not approve the casino unless every tribe agreed.

The Oneida Tribe, the Ho-Chunk Nation, and the Forest County Potawatomi remain against the proposed casino.

The location of the Kenosha Casino would be 40 miles away from Milwaukee. That is the where the Potawatomi's casino is located.
