Previously closed last August, the Lakewood casino is seeking to reopen. The
casino is under a new name and new management. The new Lucky Dragonz Casino is
located in the former location of the Happy Days Casino. Located at 11500
Bridgeport Way SW. The original casino was closed due to failure to pay over
$35,000 in gambling taxes.
The State Gaming Commission reported that on December 21 of last year, Kelco
Gaming applied for a gaming license. The application is still awaiting approval.
However if approved the casino will be able to operate 12 gaming tables.
A business license has also been applied for with the City of Lakewood. However,
the city is waiting for final approval from the Gaming Commission before the
business license can be approved. A liquor license is also waiting for approval.
The application was submitted on January 7.
Revenues earned by the casino are subject to 11% tax. This goes to help pay for
basic services that the city needs.
