Ground has been broken on the new $10 million casino located in Jefferson
County's town of Terral. The casino is owned by the Chickasaw Nation and will be
built about 2 miles from the Texas border. The land was placed into trust for
the tribe in early 2017.
Texas does not allow for Class III gaming, other than the Kickapoo Tribal owned
casino, Lucky Eagle Casino near the southern border.
When complete, the casino will 6 game tables, over 600 slot machines, a
restaurant, and store. The facility will be 36,000 square feet. 150 new jobs
will be created by the project.
The name of the new casino has not been announced.
