A blizzard collapsed part of the roof at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa last winter. Instead of repairing the damages, the casino will now use the site to build a new hotel tower.

Owned by the Cherokee Nation, the casino will be adding the new tower that will cost 52 million dollars. 100 new guest rooms will be added to the facility. Currently, the casino hotel offers 356 guest rooms. With the addition to the new tower the hotel will have the largest guest room count in the area.

Below the guest rooms of the new tower will be an additional gaming area, dining, and entertainment center. The new gaming area will be 10,000 square feet. The dining and entertainment area will be 45,000 square feet.

Plans also call for a new pedestrian bridge that will take guests from the north parking lot to the lower tower. Guests will also be able to enjoy the new food court. Also, in the new entertainment area, a 2,700 seat amphitheater.

The focal attraction for the lower part of the tower will be "Media Bar". It will be located on the mezzanine level. Guest will be able to enjoy television screens that will be in a circular pattern. The screens will be visible from the inside of the bar as well as the lower gaming floor.

Construction is expected to begin in a month. The project is expected to last one year. The lower section of the tower is estimated to take about nine months to complete.

The casino is also hopeful to attract conventions and conferences with the new space since more hotel rooms will be available.

20 to 30 jobs will be added to the hotel when it opens.
