THACKERVILLE, OK - WinStar Casino is hosting the WinStar World Championship Series of Poker and Blackjack. The satellite tournaments are now airing on the ABC network leading to a finales series between August 16-23.
In a press release, Brian Campbell, CEO for the Division of Commerce of the Chickasaw Nation, said "WinStar Casinos has gained an excellent reputation in recent years through its Red River Roundup Poker Tournaments so we are well known now in the poker industry. We've attracted World Series of Poker stars Greg Raymer, David Williams and T.J. Cloutier with our purses and prizes. But these two new tournaments take us to a whole new level of excitement and exposure to a broader audience."
Andrea Horner, chief marketing officer, added "We've designed everything from the amazing and dramatic sets to the caps and jackets we think you'll soon see on every poker and blackjack player. The purse and our reputation for hosting incredible tournaments have created quite a buzz in the industry. Some of our own WinStar guests are becoming TV celebrities as they play in these tournaments. Consequently, we have interest from known TV celebrities who want to play in the tournament and be featured on our shows."
The shows will air on WFAA Channel 8 (ABC) and sister station KFWD in the Dallas market for 16 consecutive weeks starting the first weekend of June.
